Upstairs on the second floor, Alyssa was peeking out the window when she suddenly squealed in excitement. “Kaia! Uncle Lucien’s here!”

She whirled around to Kayla. “Quick, let’s block the door. We’ve got to make them work for it before they’re allowed in!”

Downstairs, the noise was growing louder. The groomsmen had started coming up the stairs.
