Chapter 161 Enrapture Those Around Him

Josephine’s heart sank, and she looked at Lewis nervously. She grimaced and forced out a smile. She gestured, “I’ll take it when I go back.”

Lewis’ gaze flickered, and he said, “Don’t take it anymore.”

Josephine was taken aback. Lewis reached out his hand and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear as he said vaguely, “Didn’t you say that you like a girl?”

Josephine froze in the car seat, suddenly not knowing how to react. It had slipped her mind that Lewis desired a child. The painful memory of their child, who had passed away two months ago, resurfaced in her mind due to Lewis’ words. A profound wave of grief and bitterness surged within her, causing a lump to form in her throat and tears to well up in her mind. She was really becoming more and more forgetful.

Lewis furrowed his brows lightly and abruptly withdrew his hand. He fastened his seatbelt and drove off. Josephine turned to face the window, and tears streamed down from the corner of her eyes.

Soon, they arrived at Alvarez Manor. Before they entered, they saw Sierra standing on the side of the road, looking around. When she saw Lewis’ car, her face lit up.

Josephine’s heart tightened when she saw her. Then, she glanced at the man beside her. Sure enough, he slowed down the car and pulled over in front of Sierra. He could not overlook Sierra even when Josephine was in the car with him. He did not care about how Josephine. would feel when she saw Sierra.

He wound down the window, and Sierra leaned forward to look into the car. The moment she saw Josephine, the smile on her face vanished. She asked, “Why are you two together?”

Lewis did not answer her question. He tilted his head and asked, “What’s up?”

“I can’t get through to your phone and thought you might be having suicidal thoughts. I went to your mansion but did not find you, so I decided to come here and test my luck, hoping to get some information on your whereabouts,” Sierra said.

Lewis pondered for a moment before turning to Josephine and said, “You head in first.”

Josephine clenched her fists and glanced at Sierra before shifting her gaze to Lewis. Ultimately, she relaxed her fists, opened the car door, and silently exited the vehicle. Then, she walked to the mansion alone.
