Chapter 223 Did He Dump You Already?

Josephine looked up into the bear’s motionless eyes. Suddenly, the black beaded eyes moved and woke her up with a start.

She opened her eyes to dazzling brightness.

She looked out the window and realized it was already morning. Beside her, the bed was empty.

She sat upright in bed, her calves aching. She flipped the blanket aside to examine her legs and noticed they were still swollen, though less painful than before.

Josephine extended her arm and pinched the swollen area. She inhaled sharply in pain.

The bedroom door opened all of a sudden. Lewis entered with a food tray and sat beside her.

Josephine’s gaze fell on him. He wore a black shirt and a silver vest, showing off his slender waist. He exuded frigidity when dressed and had probably fooled many with that.

Lewis took the bowl on the tray and brought a spoonful of broth to her mouth. “Open your

mouth.”

Josephine obeyed him, her eyes glued to his face.

Lewis fed her spoonful after spoonful, and Josephine ate it all.

She was starving. It felt like she hadn’t been eating for days. She gulped down all the broth
