Gregory lit a cigarette, taking his time, his voice steady as ever, “Go on.”

“The info I’ve just got shows Ms. Webster had been battling depression, on medication for two years. Last summer, she… she attempted suicide by slashing her wrists…”

Gregory’s pupils dilated, his voice trembling, “The exact date. Or, what… what happened before she did it?”

“It was August 23rd.”
