Chapter 123

Gloria smiled. "Mr. Dane left me his number the last time he came over. He just called and mentioned you two were drinking tonight, so he asked me to make a hangover remedy, so you wouldn't wake up with a headache in the morning."

"I see... Thank you. I appreciate it."

After closing the door, Josephine stared down at the bowl in her hands, feeling a bit sorry for Ethan. He clearly didn't like her-he had made that painfully obvious when he recoiled from her touch like it was something repulsive. Yet, for the sake of his role as the male lead in her film, he had no choice but to play along, to act like he cared, to try and win her over.

It was almost laughable. It reminded her of the way she had to force herself to go along with Matthew's requests just to secure the cinema slots she wanted. Life really was exhausting.

Still, she drank the remedy. Her health hadn't been great lately, and the last thing she wanted was another trip to the hospital.

The next morning, she allowed herself to sleep in. Even after waking up, she lay in bed lazily, unwilling to move. Then, she decided to make a phone call. "Have you decided on Jasmine's role yet?" she asked Mason.

Mason responded, "We've narrowed it down to two options. One is the granddaughter of an elderly man, and the other is a supermarket cashier."
