Chapter 406
Xander involuntarily stopped in his tracks.
“Miss Miller, I have an urgent request, Xander asked.
With that, Xander knelt before Gina and continued, “I hope you can help me find my father. He went missing near your hospital. Could you please check if anyone coming and going from the hospital has seen him?
“I know it’s a lot to ask of you, but… I’m out of options. I’ll repay you however I can!” Xander bowed to Gina without hesitation. He had already lost his sister and couldn’t bear to lose his only remaining family, his father.
Since his father had disappeared near Gina’s hospital, Gina saw no problem in helping. She gestured for him to rise and said, “I can ask around for you, Mr. Xiang. Don’t worry.”
“Thank you!” Xander said, tearfully grateful.
Gina suggested, “Let’s check the surveillance footage first and see if we can find anything
After four hours of meticulous review, they discovered that Xander’s father walked into a blind spot in the surveillance coverage after passing through the rightmost greenery and then disappeared. None of the surrounding cameras captured any further footage of him.
They might need to check the surveillance footage from nearby residential buildings.
Xander was on the brink of collapse. Where could his father have gone? The longer there was no news, the more likely it seemed to bring bad news.
Gina assured him and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll have people ask around to see if anyone has seen your father.”
“Thank you,” Xander said.
Grateful but anxious, Xander left with the police officers.
Gabriel asked Gina, “Is there anything else you need to take care of?”
Gina sent a message to Dylan, asking him to look into Xander’s father’s disappearance.
“There’s nothing else for now,” Gina said to Gabriel, putting her phone down.
Gabriel smiled, took Gina’s hand, and said, “Then we should start planning our engagement. Let’s go to Oriata City.”

Gina was slightly taken aback and asked, “Oriata City? What for?”
“Don’t cry anymore. If you keep crying, your eyes will be swollen.” Colin sat by Elaine’s bedside in the room, comforting her as she sobbed inconsolably.
He wasn’t good at consoling people, but this was his sister. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered.
Anyone else crying in front of him would have been slapped by now.
Elaine leaned against the headboard, unable to control her emotions, and asked again, “Colin, has Gina’s mood improved? I can’t get up now. I can’t go anywhere!”
Elaine was growing increasingly desperate. Her legs had completely lost sensation, and she leared that if this continued, they might be permanently

paralyzed.
“She hasn’t contacted me,” Colin replied irritably.
They were in a difficult position.
He had already swallowed his pride to negotiate with Gina for Elaine’s sake, but she remained unyielding.

And he didn’t have any evidence that Gina caused Elaine’s legs to lose sensation and become unable to stand. He was also very curious about how Gina managed to immobilize Elaine’s legs without any physical contact.
Elaine cried even more sorrowfully. She grabbed Colin’s hand and pleaded, “Colin, you have to find a way!”
Colin patted Elaine’s hand reassuringly and said, “Alright. Don’t worry. I’ll find a way.”
Colin pondered. Gina wasn’t swayed by money. To make her happy, he’d have to do something significant.
He thought of people who had a grudge against C i n a and suddenly remembered Olivia…
Since losing a kidney, Ella’s health had deteriorated rapidly
Coupled with James’s death, she was devastated and spent her days weakly lying in bed
Olivia brought her a bowl of tonic and said, “Mom, take this. You’re too weak.
Ella had no desire to take it.
“Your brother, he…”
Ashley threatened them, saying if they dared to hold a funeral for James, they would face consequences. So, in the end, there was no funeral for James.
Rolling her eyes internally, Olivia pretended to be caring and consoled Ella, whose son had long been dead. “Mom, don’t be too sad. James wouldn’t blame us for not holding a funeral for him. He would surely want our family to live well.”
Ella didn’t respond, just continued to cry.
Olivia felt irritated, wishing she could just splash the bowl of tonic directly onto Ella’s face. Olivia didn’t bother to comfort her anymore. “Mom, calm down first. I’ll leave the tonic here for you, and you can drink it later,”
As Olivia got up to leave, the door suddenly swung open. Thinking it was Noah and the others returning, she was surprised to see Colin instead.
Startled, Olivia forced a smile and asked, “Mr. Barnes, what brings you here?”
Colin looked at both women, “I need to speak with you. No, with both of you.”
