The moment the words left Dalton’s mouth, Winston’s eyes flew wide open. His entire face stiffened, and something dark and unreadable flickered in his gaze.

“I’m tired too,” Dalton said flatly. His expression turned even colder, as if he were looking at a stranger.

“I was always worrying about how you felt…”

That was only half true.
