Alaric realized what he had done. "Get out of the way!" he yelled in panic.

Lemira's face was stoic and her eyes inscrutable.

The screech of tires announced the car's halt beside Lemira. As the window rolled down, Orion's sculpted features came into view. His voice was calm, "Get in!"

A slight smile played on Lemira's lips - she had known it was him.

She bent to enter the car, as Alaric's voice echoed from outside, "Lemira, you can't go with him!"

Turning her head, Lemira saw Alaric running towards the car. She responded by rolling up the window, cutting off the outside world.

Alaric chased them for a while but eventually stopped, panting and frustrated. He punched the ground in dismay, wondering how things had turned out this way. He regretted leaving Lemira behind at that moment.
