Lemira glared at Evelina with a frosty expression, demanding, "Hand over the phone."

"No way, we can't call the cops," Evelina pleaded, turning to Asher for support. "Asher, I'm not savvy with this stuff. The suppliers said kickbacks are standard practice, but I had no idea they'd send expired products!"

Asher, his patience worn thin, slapped her across the face. "You've really let me down. Since when did the Langston family ever mistreat you?"

He was furious, feeling his reputation crumble in front of Lemira.

Through tears, Evelina insisted, "Asher, I was just momentarily foolish and got duped by the suppliers. I swear I've learned my lesson."

Asher was exasperated, "Now you realize? What about when you were pocketing kickbacks? Did it never cross your mind what would happen if this blew up?"

He ran a hand through his hair, frustrated. "Evelina, lately you've been nothing but trouble."

"Asher, please, just this once, help me out," Evelina begged, never expecting the suppliers would send expired tampons and leave her in such a mess.

And she certainly didn't expect Lemira to act so quickly, giving her no time to destroy any evidence.

Asher brushed her off. "The foundation's in Lemira's hands now. She's the one you need to be pleading with, not me."

This issue, unfortunately, was out of his control. Lemira had the evidence.

Looking at the 'two-faced' girl, Lemira demanded again, "Give me the phone."
