Fidelia had no reason to tangle with him anymore.

"No worries, Fidelia. I'm heading out now."

Sherilyn waved at Fidelia, making her way to the foyer to pull open the front door. It was nearly noon, and she was running late for her daily visit to the Sunset Ridge Community. Jenna would be worried by

now.

However, as the door swung open, she was greeted by the sight of a young man with a sturdy build standing on the doorstep.

"Ms. Gomez."

"Abel?"

Sherilyn recognized him, though they hadn't spoken much. She knew him as Gilbert's bodyguard.

The Johnson brothers each had bodyguards, something Sherilyn hadn't understood before. She now knew it was because they had been kidnapped as kids.

But what was Abel doing here?

"Ms. Gomez, Mr. Gilbert has instructed that you need to rest at home."

Sherilyn was taken aback. What did he mean by that?

Abel continued, "Ms. Gomez, whatever you need, just command me."

His tone was respectful, yet carried an undeniable sense of coercion.

Sherilyn couldn't help but scoff, "Abel, tell me exactly what Gilbert said."

"Well..."
