And yeah, Sherilyn was taking Jenna along.

Jenna was so little, and not exactly in the best of health...

Gilbert instantly felt a twinge of regret. He shouldn't have smoked so much just now. Grabbing a pack of gum, he threw three pieces into his mouth and started chewing mechanically.

The sickly sweet taste spread across his tongue. He wondered, maybe it could tone down the smell of the smoke a bit?

Fifteen minutes later, Sherilyn emerged.

Gilbert straightened up and walked towards her, his gaze burning into her. "Sherilyn."

Sherilyn frowned, avoiding his gaze. "If you've got something to say, just say it."

"It's not really the place here."

Gilbert glanced at her expression and said lightly, "How about we find a cozy spot to sit down and talk?"

Why? Sherilyn looked up, puzzled.

But he seemed pretty insistent. With no other choice, Sherilyn nodded. "Alright."

The area wasn't bustling with activity. Sherilyn led Gilbert to a dessert cafe she and Jenna had just visited.

They sat down opposite each other.

"What'll you have?"

"Nothing for me." Sherilyn shook her head. Was she here to drink something?
