"Haha."

Gilbert sneered dismissively, "Caved in so soon? How on earth did the Harrisons decide to hire a deadbeat like you? Which Mr. Harrison are we talking about here?"

As far as he knew, there weren't many left in the Harrison clan who could genuinely claim the title of Mr. Harrison.

Naylor Harrison was the head honcho, but his sons, only two remained, both well past their prime and not much to speak of in terms of competence.

The rest were Naylor's kin, but which of them could truly stand as Mr. Harrison? Just a bunch of leeches dining on Naylor's dime.

"Okay, okay, I'll tell!"

The visitor didn't resist, "Mr. Gilbert, I'm here to find an opportunity to pass a message from Mr. Harrison to you..."

"Out with it!"

"Mr. Gilbert, Naylor wants to see you! It's urgent, Mr. Harrison prefers to keep it low-key!"

What? Gilbert was momentarily taken aback. Naylor wanted to see him? For what purpose? And he wanted to keep it under wraps?

Gilbert narrowed his eyes. "You're speaking the truth?"

"That's the gospel truth!" The visitor nodded vehemently, "Mr. Gilbert, I might not have much up my sleeve, but if I really wanted to harm you, I wouldn't have been caught so easily, right?" He had a point.

In their line of work, you needed some tricks up your sleeve to survive.
