Chapter 774

From what he knew, she hadn't been part of the Harrison family for years. Where she went, nobody knew. Now, all of a sudden, Naylor brought her up.

Gilbert's Adam's apple bobbed violently as he asked, "Why are you bringing this up? What do you mean?"

Naylor raised an eyebrow, "What I mean is, if you want to see her, I can make it happen right now."

Gilbert stiffened, blurting out incredulously, "You're talking nonsense! She left Sunhaven years ago! Do you think I haven't looked for her?"

"You do care about your mother," Naylor nodded with a smile. "She was indeed gone from Sunhaven because her health worsened, and Sunhaven wasn't suitable for her recovery. But now that you're back, I thought seeing her son might do her some good, don't you think?" Each word hit Gilbert hard. His heart pounded, torn between doubt and hope, his voice slowing, "Where is she?"

"Upstairs," Naylor stopped being cryptic and pointed towards the staircase, "Do you want to see her?"

Hearing this, Gilbert looked up sharply. His mother was upstairs?!

After so many years, his only memories of her were from a distance in his childhood... He thought he might never see her again in this lifetime!

A surge of emotion welled up in his eyes, his blood racing and clamoring as he abruptly clenched his fists. Naylor watched him, encouraging, "Go on... see her."
