Gilbert swung open the car door and practically shoved Sherilyn inside.

"My car..." Sherilyn protested, anxiety evident in her voice. She had driven herself here.

"Give me your keys!"

He snatched the car keys from her hand. "I'll have someone drive it back to Sunset Ridge Community for you!"

With that, he climbed into the driver's seat. Callie tried to follow them into the car, but when she pulled on the door handle, it was locked.
