Chapter 1128

"Rebecca," Francis called out, halting her in her tracks.

"Hmm?" Rebecca White turned around, a bit surprised.

Francis gazed at her intently, his voice deep and sincere. "What I told Grandpa tonight was true-just say the word, and we can get married anytime."

Rebecca paused, not entirely shocked. This wasn't the first time he'd said something like this to her recently. But she was hesitant to believe him.

Their worlds were so different. If she took his words to heart, it would mean a whole new life for her. But for Francis? With everything he had, gaining or losing someone like her probably wouldn't make much of a dent.

"Rebecca."

Francis took her hand gently, his tone warm and reassuring. "Promise me you'll think about it. James is already four. It's time we were together."

Rebecca's eyes flickered with emotion as she pulled her hand away. "Let's talk about it later," she said, hurriedly stepping out of the car and running off.

...

The next day, a Saturday.

Francis picked up Rebecca from her place at Rosewood Mansion, taking her to Dr. Wilson for her therapy session.

While Rebecca was in the treatment room, Francis waited outside, unable to shake his worry.
