Chapter 111

She watched Nate, who was fast asleep beside her. After a moment, she couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh. “Helping your dad out this once is my way of atoning for Audrey.”

Natalie was half–asleep when she heard the sound of the door being pushed open. Blinking her eyes open, she saw Brian stripping off his clothes, ready to hop into the shower.

If he showered here, he was definitely going to crash for the night.

She quietly turned over, pulling the quilt up over Nate.

As she pulled her hand back, she felt the mattress dip slightly beside her.

“I’ll take the comforter and crash in the den,” came Brian’s voice from behind her.

The futon in the den was pitifully small. Natalie turned around to face him and said, “I thought you were going overseas for work.”

“So you won’t even spare a comforter for me?” Brian asked, his tone cool as he looked at her.

Natalie didn’t say a word, her silence making it clear she didn’t want him staying the night at Prestige Penthouses. Her injuries hadn’t fully healed, but she didn’t want to show weakness in front of Brian.
