Chapter 114
“Who the heck are you? Her boyfriend or something?” OldMate grumbled and eyed Reid with a mix of curiosity and annoyance.
“Just the driver and bodyguard. Got a problem with that?” Reid cocked an eyebrow, his tone edged with a warning. If it weren’t for the fact that this greasy and scrawny dude was part of the FireWing. Reid would have already knocked the stuffing out of him.
“It’s cool, no worries,” Natalie intervened at the sight of Reid’s displeasure. She took the blanket from OldMate with a suppressed chuckle. “Thanks a bunch, really. Sorry for the trouble.”
With that, she shut the door.
Glancing down at the blanket in her hands, she fished out a flash drive shaped like a gingerbread man and casually tossed the blanket onto the nearby couch.
This was perfect. Pretending to come back for the blanket enabled a reason to knock on her door again, potentially throwing Brian and his cronies off the scent.
Just as she curled her fingers around the flash drive, preparing to head back to her room, she looked up to find Nate standing barefoot in the doorway.
Natalie jumped, but recovered quickly. It was just a three–year–old kid, after all. Even if he’d seen her with the flash drive, he probably had no clue what it was, especially since it looked like a toy keychain.
