After exchanging a glance, he finally spoke with a restrained voice, “Let’s grab a bite together.”

“I’ve had dinner with Rosie upstairs,” Natalie replied indifferently. She could tell Brian was trying to make amends, lowering his pride in a rare gesture of reconciliation.

Waving at Nate, she added, “You two go ahead.” Her tone left no room for negotiation.
