“It was nothing. I’m going to get changed now.” Maia picked up her gown in a daze and walked into one of the rooms in their suite. Everyone was puzzled. Then, the make–up artist and stylist went to work on both Maia and Hope.

Maia remained quiet throughout the entire process. She merely nodded or shook her head whenever the make–up artist and stylist asked her questions. They eventually smartened up and refrained from asking her anything. There was about half an hour left until The Horizon Awards by the time they were done.
