Chapter 125

Sarahpov.

The warm breeze hit me the second I stepped off the plane. It was a mix of salty ocean air and something sweet, like fresh fruit.

It was that smell I remembered so well, and it wrapped around me like an old, familiar blanket.

As I walked down the steps onto the tarmac, I couldn't help but smile. Mexico. I hadn't been here in months. I had missed it-the sights, the sounds, the feel of the place. But as much as I was excited, I was also a little nervous. I glanced at Richard, who was walking beside me. He was his usual calm self, hands in his pockets, a faint smile on his face. It was clear he was happy to be here, and I was glad to have him by my side.

Zoe had rushed back to the office for some 'urgent work' so I decided to go to the office the next day, after making Zoe promise not to sopill the teas to the staff.

The next day.

"Okay, I know you're all excited to be here, but let's not forget why we're really here," I said, nudging Richard's arm.

He grinned at me. "I know, I know. You've got some 'unannounced inspection' to do."

I rolled my eyes. "Not an inspection, just a 'check-in."" I paused, then added, "Though, I can't say I won't enjoy watching the staff's reaction when I show up unexpectedly." Richard laughed. "You think they'll freak out?"

"Definitely," I said with a grin. "You know Zoe's been holding the fort down, but they're probably wondering if I'm going to fire someone as soon as I walk through the door. I can already picture the looks on their faces."

We both chuckled as we headed toward the waiting car. I leaned back in my seat as the car drove through the busy streets of Mexico City.

The city was alive, buzzing with energy. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. It had been a while since I had seen the office or my team in person, and I was eager, but also a little unsure about how I'd fit back into the rhythm of things. The traffic was its usual chaos, but I didn't mind. I had missed this place-the hustle, the noise, the vibrant culture. It felt like home, in a way that nothing else could.

When we finally pulled up to the office building, I felt my nerves kick in again. I could see Zoe through the big glass windows, sitting at her desk.

She looked calm and composed.
