Chapter 130

Richard pov.

The next afternoon, I led Sarah by the hand down the sandy path on the beach. Her face lit up with surprise as she looked around, realizing where we were.

"Richard, what is this? The beach? You brought me here?" She sounded almost in disbelief, like I was pulling some sort of prank.

"Yeah, I did," I said, grinning at her. "I thought it might be nice. Just the two of us, no work, no stress, just... us." I paused, noticing the slight smile on her face. "I thought you could use a break from all the office stuff." Her expression softened, and she leaned into me as we walked along the shore. "I wasn't expecting this, but it's perfect."

We walked in silence for a moment, just listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.

I glanced over at Sarah, still amazed by how strong and beautiful she was, even with all the challenges of pregnancy. She had this glow about her that made me want to just hold onto these moments forever. "Do you remember the first time we came to the beach together?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

She chuckled softly. "How could I forget? You tried to impress me with your 'knowledge' of the ocean, but all you did was get stung by a jellyfish."

I groaned, recalling the memory. "I thought I could just 'swim through it.' Big mistake."

"Yeah, I tried not to laugh when you came out of the water looking like a tomato," she teased, nudging me with her shoulder. "But I couldn't help it. You were so dramatic about it."

"I wasn't dramatic!" I protested. "It really hurt. And you weren't exactly being helpful, standing on the beach and laughing instead of helping me."

She burst into laughter again, and I couldn't help but smile at the sound. "I think it was your pride that hurt more than the jellyfish sting," she said, still grinning. "But, I mean, it was a pretty funny sight."
