Chapter 218

It’s been five years to the day since I was sold the Lycan King. For since I was forced to join an organization called FATE. Things have changed. I used to think the world was black and white. Split down the middle between good and evil. I knew where I stood on that scale. No one’s perfect and well, I’ve done some ugly things in my life.

I’ve been given a brand new perspective and I’ve been trying to make changes that I believe benefit how we move forward as society of Lycans. Both the King and I have made some choices we aren’t proud of, but the results feel like they’re almost worth the sacrifice.

Which brings me to today. I haven’t seen the King in a couple of days and I haven’t been feeling well. I know Oz said that it was unlikely for this to happen after she gave me the shots before my first official Lycan Heat, but here we are. Two months. and a half later.

For the second time in my life, my mind is waiting for my instincts to catch up with me because I’m already thinking of all the ways I can protect something that doesn’t even have fingerprints yet,

I am on a timer ticking down rapidly. In another week, my scent will begin to change. My body will begin to adjust to accommodate the life growing inside of me and given the size of its father, I highly doubt it won’t be unnoticeable.
