Patricia was seated at the banquet table with Zachary by her side. He pierced a piece of fruit with his fork and brought it toward her mouth.

She froze for a moment and tilted her head back a little before quickly nibbling at the piece of fruit.

"Zachary, I can feed myself."

They had been photographed so many times even though they had just arrived. Now, he was sitting so close to her and trying to feed her. To any bystander, it would seem like there was something going on between them.

She also felt a pair of eyes fixed on her, which sent a chill down her bones.

She looked around but couldn't see anyone suspicious.

Somehow, Patricia felt that whoever was looking at her was someone she knew.

Seeing her sudden demureness, Zachary smiled faintly before it turned into a full grin.

"You know I like to spoil you."

Patricia beamed when she heard this.

On the other hand, Isaac grimaced as he studied Patricia's interaction with Zachary.

Next to him, Nikola chortled. "Ise, it seems like Miss Patricia knows how to take revenge."

That woman always seemed nervous and incapable of holding a grudge. Yet here she was, being lovey-dovey with a guy at Isaac's engagement banquet.

From an outsider's point of view, the two looked like a good match; a beau and a belle.

Finally, Isaac turned away. He couldn't bear to keep looking.

Chuckling, Percy suggested, "Ise, why don't you elope with her? I bet that'll be fun."

Isaac tapped the railing as he contemplated his next move. Then, he whipped out his phone and sent a text. 'Keep Zachary away from her.'

That message was for Liam, who was in the lobby receiving guests for his employer. When he saw the message on his phone, he frowned.

His boss was making things difficult for him again. However, Liam had no choice but to get Sorella and the others to receive the guests.

Almost all of the company's employees were there. Those from the president's office were pretty much considered family members. Alongside Liam, they were all busy entertaining guests.

As Liam stepped into the banquet hall, he did a cursory search and found Patricia at the second table by the dancefloor.

He went up to her and whispered into her ear, "Miss Aniston, why are you still sitting here? Everyone is helping out with the engagement. Follow me this instant."

In fact, he didn't dare give her anything to do. He had only intended for her to taste-test the food in the lounge.

It was an easy enough task, and it was the only one he could think of.

Patricia glanced at Zachary before turning to Liam. She said, "I wasn't informed about that. Will I get additional pay?"

The main thing she cared about was money. She would do anything for the almighty dollar.

She made it a point to save up a little money each month. Over time, she hoped to buy a small house where she could raise her family in peace.
