Chapter 219

"You are?" Jackson looked at that person doubtfully. He combed through his memory but could not recognise the man in front of him.

"It's me, Larry! You don't recognize me anymore?" The man introduced himself. Jackson had no idea who Larry or Leslie or whatever name he had. From his name, he assumed that Larry had to be one of the less noticeable small fry gangsters that he used to hang out with.

"Jackson, when did you come back?" Larry asked him.

"I just came back today!"

"Oh, how come no one knew about your return? My bad. Since I've run into you, let me welcome you back," Larry said as he reached out his hand and dragged Jackson over to his car beside him.

Even a small gangster like him owned a car. Jackson himself did not even have a home. The comparison was depressing.

However, having someone care about him was better than nothing. Jackson wanted to find someone to catch him up on what was going on anyway. So, he decided to follow Larry to a restaurant nearby.

Larry ordered a variety of dishes as well as a nice bottle of wine. Him and Jackson enjoyed their feast as they chatted away. According to Larry, some of the gangsters that Jackson used to know had gone overseas, some had retired in wealth, while some were in prison. In short, not many of them were around anymore.

After the discussion, Jackson realized that he could no longer rekindle his old profession. The gangsters around were all new now, and they definitely would not accept him as their leader. He started to become anxious.

How would he survive if no one would listen to him? Apart from fighting and taking advantage of others, he did not really know how to do anything else.

Jackson thought of his only sister, Rosa. He asked Larry if he knew anything about her and Larry told him that she had left town to work, he had no idea where she had gone.

Then, Jackson thought of Loraine. Speaking of her, he felt so ashamed. That b*tch was really something. When he was in his prime, she stuck by him easily and lived off his glory. However, when he got into trouble, she immediately turned around and acted as if she didn't know him at all. She did not wait at home for him and even sent his son off to someone else. If he ever found out about her whereabouts, he would definitely skin her alive.

At present, he had nowhere to go, so he had to ask about Loraine's whereabouts. Considering what that b*tch had done, she was most likely afraid of him. If he could find her and exploit her, he would be able to live comfortably for a while.

Larry had no idea about Loraine either. When he heard that Jackson had nowhere to stay and no money to live, he patted his chest and suggested, "Jackson, if you don't mind, you can stay with me. I won't let you starve on the streets."
