Chapter 145
Ava was extremely embarrassed. What she feared most was that the senior members of the Radbury family would want Jean to return to the family. If that happened, it would be very difficult for her to meet Jean ever again. However, there was no way for her to hide from them anymore since they had already bumped into each other. After all, Jean was still the grandson of the Radbury family. “Jean, this is your grandmother,” Ava slowly comforted Jean as she pushed him towards Karen Adaly. “…Grandma,” Jean understood that his mother might be in a difficult situation, so he greeted his grandmother politely. Karen’s attitude towards the child and Ava was completely different. She took the little boy’s hand with a smile and asked him, “What’s your name?” “I’m Jean Nagel.” “That’s not a very nice name, is it? You are the grandson of the Radbury Family, so it would be best if we changed your name.” “No! My name is given by my mommy, I like it!” Jean immediately turned back to look at his mommy, so Ava hurriedly pulled him behind her to protect him. Damien quickly stepped in to ease the situation and said to Karen, “The kid is still young and might not be familiar with strangers. Mom, that’s it for today then?” “Unfamiliar with me? I’m his grandmother! Since he is one of us, he should feel at ease with me! Why not let him stay at our place for two days? He will get to know us in no time!” “No way!” Hearing this, Ava suddenly panicked and said. “It seems that you have objections?” Karen gave her a sidelong glance. “Jean has never left me. He can’t…” “Hmph, I don’t think you can raise a child well, look how spoiled this little fellow is! If you continue to raise him for two more years, he’ll be a goner soon!” Ava held Jean’s hand tightly. Then, Damien quickly stopped Karen when he realized that she was going to snatch the child away from Ava. “Mom, since Jean is my son, I will raise him myself. You don’t have to worry about this.” “You are so busy with your work, so how can you possibly have time for that? Besides, as a man, do you even know how to take care of a child?” “About that, you just have to relax.” The butlers, nannies, chefs, and tutors all walked in with a wave of his hand. It turned out that he had already prepared everything in advance! “I have already prepared a children’s room and a game room at home. If you take the child away now, it will be a waste of my efforts,” Damien said.
Karen didn’t have anything to say anymore after she saw that he was so attentive to even the slightest details. “What about her? What are you going to do with her?” She pointed at Ava. Damien gave Ava an intense look and smiled, “Well, we will be like how we were previously. Mom, are you going to keep prying on us even though we’re a married couple?” Karen saw how determined Damien was, so she could only remain silent When Ava first had the accident two years ago, Karen saw with her own eyès the depressive abyss of destruction that Damien had sunk himself into. She couldn’t figure out why Damien would care so much for a woman like Ava. However, she knew that she should keep her thoughts to herself after seeing Damien’s affection for this woman.

She hadn’t seen Damien’s smile in so many years, but he actually had one on his face the whole time with Ava!
“Okay, you have your own decisions, so I’ll go with whatever you decide,” Karen said.
Damien gave the butler a look and signaled him to send his mother off. However, Karen hadn’t even reached the door when she suddenly turned back.
“Damien, I’m not trying to be extra here but I just want to let you know that since Jean is part of our family’s bloodline, he should stay in the family from now on. Don’t let him go to inappropriate places anymore.” “All right.” After Damien sent his mother away, he turned around and saw Ava’s angry face. “What is the meaning of this?” Ava asked coldly. “Since Mom already knows about Jean’s existence, she naturally wants him to return to the family.” “Didn’t you say that you wouldn’t take Jean away from me? You are clearly…” Ava was furious. She took Jean’s small hand and immediately felt like leaving the house. Damien blocked both of them at the door, “If I didn’t say that, my mother would have immediately taken him away. Isn’t that why you played along just now and didn’t say a word?” “Damien, you did this on purpose!” “Well, you can see it that way.” Damien looked down and asked Jean with a smile, “You saw your room just now. Do you like it?” “I don’t like it,” Jean pouted. His room in daddy’s house was much bigger than his grandma’s. He had countless toys and books, and his bed was bigger and softer here. However, he would rather die than live in a big room at the cost of being separated from his mother! Jean hugged Ava’s thigh and said firmly, “I want to be with mommy! I don’t want to be separated from her!”
