Still, Edward couldn't help but ask the one question every boyfriend got curious about. "What did you even see in Simon back then?"

"To be honest..." Janice let out a long sigh. "I think I had a problem with my eyes back then."

Edward burst out laughing.

Once she finished eating, they walked back to the bedroom, arm in arm.

The moment Janice hit the bed, she was out cold in less than five minutes.

Lying beside her in the dim light, Edward quietly picked up his phone and opened

a message from Harrison. It was a set of custom engagement ring designs.

None of them felt quite right, though.

He texted Harrison back, instructing him to have the designer redo them.

Edward still remembered the wedding Janice had almost had with Simon. It hadn't been grand or extravagant, just decent at best.

The wedding he would give Janice had to be one of a kind. Every single detail had to be flawless because only the best was worthy of the woman he loved.

Putting his phone away, he turned to Janice, pulled her into his arms, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
