Regret Novel 165

Chapter 165

Charlotte was trapped between his chest and the cold glass, utterly cornered. The towel clung to just one side of her body, leaving her skin exposed and prickling with cold. She shivered uncontrollably. “Isn’t one Tricia enough for you? Or do you need more? If you don’t mind how filthy it is, I certainly do!”

Evander’s face darkened, and he fell silent.

She’d never looked at him with such disgust before.

Charlotte gasped for breath, her soaked body trembling in his burning embrace. Even though he said nothing, she could feel his suffocating presence–like a knife suspended above her.

“So after all that, you’re jealous of her?” Evander twined his fingers through her damp hair, drawing close until his voice was a low murmur in her ear. “You should know better than anyone if there’s something wrong with me.”

Her breath caught. “What are you talking about?”

“It’s exactly what it sounds like.” He pressed her beneath him, voice thick with meaning. His calloused palm grazed her waist, the roughness sparking like wildfire against her chilled skin.

Tears welled in her eyes as she protested, “Evander, I’m not in the mood for this!”

“I’ll make sure you are.” His voice was velvet and steel. He tilted up her chin and claimed her mouth, unrelenting.
