Her sudden embrace caught Evander completely off guard. For a moment, he didn’t push her away. At that instant, Tricia finally noticed there was someone else in the hospital room.

Charlotte stood there, expressionless, watching the scene unfold. She offered a faint, detached smile. “Looks like I should give you two the room.”

Before Tricia could say a word, Evander pulled her out of his arms and walked toward Charlotte. “Go home. I’ll be there soon.”

Charlotte didn’t reply. She simply turned and walked out.

Tricia bit her lip, slipping in front of Evander to block his path, desperate to catch his eye. “Evander, I really don’t want to be transferred out of the hospital… Could you please talk to your grandmother for me?”

She reached for his hand, but as soon as she touched him, Evander abruptly shook
