Her sudden embrace caught Evander completely off guard. For a moment, he didn’t push her away. At that instant, Tricia finally noticed there was someone else in the hospital room.

Charlotte stood there, expressionless, watching the scene unfold. She offered a faint, detached smile. “Looks like I should give you two the room.”

Before Tricia could say a word, Evander pulled her out of his arms and walked toward Charlotte. “Go home. I’ll be there soon.”
