Chapter 166 Signal for Help

“Rosaline, I’m over here.” Caden’s voice echoed from a distance.

Relief flooded my heart as I hastily followed the sound.

“I told you to wait where you were. Why did you wander off?” I asked, annoyed.

Does this man not realize he’s still sick?

Caden just grinned and pulled out two small sparrows from behind his back. “Sparrows might make a decent meal, don’t you think?”

“You … went to catch sparrows? Why can’t you just rest?” I quickly supported him and chided, “You’re still running a fever.”

“Are you worried about me?” Caden’s expression was relaxed, clearly more spirited than before.

I rolled my eyes at him. “If I’m not worried about you, who else would I be worried about?”

“By the way, there’s a cave nearby where we can rest.” On my way back, I had noticed a small mountain with a cave that seemed perfect for shelter.

Caden followed me to the cave, which was indeed more sheltered and warmer than outside. It felt like a hidden refuge.

“Stay here and rest properly. Don’t wander off. I’ll go find some herbs for you,” I instructed him before heading up the mountain to search for medicinal plants.
