Chapter 450 Half Truths

Caden’s POV:

I fell silent for a moment, thinking about what Rosaline had told me. I had been ready to refuse outright, but the words got stuck in my throat. In the end, I nodded, letting Heidi help me change.

One button at a time, my shirt came undone, revealing my well–toned chest, built from years of training.

Heidi kept her eyes lowered, but I could hear her breathing grow heavier. At first, she was just helping me change, but soon, her fingers started wandering over my body. From the hem of my shirt, they trailed over my skin, brushing against my muscles.

Her fingertips traced lightly over my chest. When I glanced at her, she was watching me with a teasing smile. I turned my gaze away, avoiding her eyes as naturally as I could.

“Caden, do you like me?” she asked softly. “Why does it feel like you’ve been avoiding me lately?”

“Why would I?” I composed myself quickly, turning back to face her. Catching her wrist gently, I stopped her from continuing her little game.

Looking into her eyes, I softened my expression, pretending to be deeply sincere. “I’ve just been really. busy lately. And I don’t want our time together to feel rushed or half–hearted.”

I reached out, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. “The reason I don’t want to get intimate is because I want to save it for the day we get married. You’ve been amazing to me–how could I ever let you down?”

A bright smile spread across Heidi’s face. She wrapped her arms around my waist, pressing her cheek against my chest as she nodded earnestly.
