Chapter 457 Lilian’s Last Hurrah

Lilian’s POV:

I sat up in bed, the soft thud of the door shutting as my father left echoing through the quiet house. He must’ve gone to the company, leaving only me and the housekeeper behind.

I crept downstairs, each step careful and deliberate. The housekeeper was in the kitchen, lost in her work. Perfect.

I slipped into the storage room at the corner of the first floor. My eyes scanned the shadows until I found it–the rifle. My father’s short hunting gun, tucked away in an old metal box. He’d mentioned only a month ago that it was still in working order.

It was the perfect time.

I lifted the rifle, the magazine still intact, its weight solid in my hands. It was powerful–far more so than a regular gun. But against an Alpha wolf king, it wouldn’t do much. Rosaline, though, wasn’t an Alpha. She was just an Omega.

I moved quickly, slipping the rifle into the pocket of my coat and stepping back into the hallway. “Leynelle,” I called softly, “I’m just stepping out for a bit. Gonna grab some food. I’ll be back soon.”

The housekeeper appeared, concern in her eyes. I waved it off with a smile. “I’m fine, really. Don’t worry. Į won’t cause any more trouble.”

Once outside, I pulled out my phone, scrolling through until I found the article I’d saved.

Rosaline had been on set recently, right? Perfect. I’d make sure she learned what it meant to regret everything.

I gave the taxi driver the address for the film set. “Take me here. I’m visiting a friend.”

Half an hour later, I arrived at the set.
