Estelle fidgeted, her cheeks pink. “Evelyn’s still over at the Lamonts’.” “I’ve already told Mom we’re staying at Old Mr. Quintin’s to keep him company and asked her to keep an eye on Evelyn,” Jonathan said with his usual calm. Estelle tilted her head, puzzled. “We wouldn’t be disturbed at the Lamonts’, why the fib?” At the red light, Jonathan turned to look at her, his eyes softening. “I was worried you wouldn’t be able to relax at home.” Estelle’s face flushed a deeper shade of crimson, her wide eyes locked onto his, momentarily speechless. Jonathan’s lips curved into a teasing smile. “I’m just pulling your leg. It’s actually because Charlie and Emily returned to the Royal Mansion. They mentioned whipping up a feast to welcome you home.” Estelle shot him a glare before turning her gaze back to the passing view outside the car window. “Evelyn and Norah are around the same age; as long as you’re comfortable with her staying at the house, that’s what matters,” Jonathan added. “Mhm,” Estelle nodded softly. “I was actually hoping to talk to you about Evelyn,” Jonathan said, taking her hand gently. “What’s up with Evelyn?” Estelle turned to face him once more. “If Old Mr. Quintin has truly been searching for his granddaughter for years, he must be filled with anticipation. Can he handle the disappointment if she isn’t the one?” Jonathan’s gaze was deep. “How about we keep it under wraps from Old Mr. Quintin for now? Let’s get a DNA test done first. If it’s a match, we’ll bring Evelyn to meet him. If not, we’ll act as if nothing ever happened.” Estelle had no objections. “Alright, let’s do the test.” She had told Evelyn about the matter before, feeling it was more respectful that way. Over the past few days, she had been considering a more prudent approach to determine Evelyn’s connection with Old Mr. Quintin. Jonathan’s method was perfect! Even if Evelyn wasn’t Old Mr. Quintin’s granddaughter, it would save everyone from an awkward situation. Back at the Royal Mansion, they headed straight for the thirtieth floor. Upon opening the door, Kya bounded over with open arms. “Estelle!” Estelle scooped Kya up in a hug, cooing with a warm smile, “Let me see, have you gotten taller? Filled out a little?” Kya, having not seen Estelle for many days, giggled against her neck. Emily emerged from the living room with a laugh. “She’s been yammering about you all day; my ears are practically calloused!” “Missed me that much?” Estelle walked into the living room, still holding Kya. Imitating Estelle, Kya bubbled with excitement. “Estelle, Daddy said we’re going to live here from now on. What about you? Where will you move?” Estelle chuckled. “Just like before, I’ll still be upstairs!” “Did you move your room over here too?” Kya asked, eyes wide with wonder. “Yeah,” Estelle nodded, still smiling. Charlie’s place was much the same, except for the new beige curtains embroidered with daisy patterns and the blooming daisies in pots on the balcony. Emily’s former

Jonathan laughed softly. “I thought you invited us over for dinner, not to put me to work.” “Everything’s Estelle’s favorite, and who better to cook for her than you? Anyone else’s cooking just won’t hit the spot,” Charlie teased with a grin, turning to Estelle. “Am I right?” Estelle teased back, “Charlie, you just can’t cook, and you’re using me as an excuse, aren’t you?” Emily chimed in with mock disdain. “Don’t
