Chapter 105 Mr. Cooper Appeared at The King Manor

"No need. Just bring over the first aid kit."

With a stoic composure, he sat on the couch, silently tending to his wounds. The room was quiet; no one dared to disturb him. Wrapping his hand with white gauze, Kelvin casually knotted the bandage and abruptly asked, "How's the situation at the prison?"

The butler, caught off guard, replied, "The prison? Ah... Mr. Davis, are you referring to Dr. Cooper?"

"Who else would I be talking about?"

"Dr. Cooper has been serving his sentence; there's been no news or trouble."

Kelvin's expression turned cold, "First thing tomorrow morning, use our connection and bring him to me."

The butler, inwardly alarmed, confirmed, "Yes, Mr. Davis."

Standing up, he kicked away the first aid kit irritably and made his way upstairs.

Penelope... this was all because of you!

The butler lingered for a moment, then snapped back to reality and hurried off to carry out his orders.

The next day, dawn broke.

Penelope, having freshened up and eaten a brief breakfast, was ready to head to work. She hadn't taken more than a few steps when she noticed a figure standing at the villa's entrance. Recognition slowly dawned on her, and as she took a closer look, her expression completely changed, and her bag dropped to the ground.

She raced forward in a panic, "Dad!"

Hearing her voice, Dr. Cooper turned and saw her, "Penelope!"

They embraced.

During her visits to the prison, they'd been separated by thick glass - visible to each other but untouchable. She never imagined they would one day reunite so closely, breathing the air of freedom.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Penelope asked, a mix of surprise and joy in her voice. "Were you exonerated?"

"I don't know myself," he replied, "I was just taken early this morning and brought here."

Years of imprisonment had taken their toll on Mr. Cooper. His hair was flecked with gray, his posture stooped; his hands were rough and covered in small cuts, several still stained with blood.

Penelope's heart ached seeing his hands, "Dad, you used to take such good care of your hands, they were meant for surgery..."

He sighed, "No matter, my days in the OR are behind me."
