Chapter 243

The next morning, Allison groggily opened her eyes, feeling the pounding

headache of a hangover immediately hit her. She looked down at her pajamas, momentarily bewildered. How did she get home last night? Who had changed her clothes?

The last she remembered was going out for drinks with Sabrina, who had dragged her along to check out some male dancers. Allison wasn't much of a drinker, and it hadn't taken long before she was completely sloshed. She had a hazy memory of spotting Joshua — but was that just the booze playing tricks on her?

Fumbling under her pillow, she grabbed her phone and dialed Sabrina's number. It rang twice before someone picked up.

"Hello?"

Allison paused, confused. "Brian? Why are you answering? Where's Sabrina?"

Brian snapped to attention at the sound of her voice. Just moments ago, he'd been comfortably asleep cuddling with Sabrina. The phone's ringtone had woken him, and in his sleepy haze, he'd instinctively answered, thinking it was his own.

Realizing his mistake, he quickly came up with an excuse. "Sabrina left her phone downstairs last night. She's still asleep upstairs. Do you need something from her?"
