Amos smiled while squinting at the sight before him.
"I am Amos Augustus. I have a meeting with Commander Hannah.”
The red light on his head instantly disappeared. The steel doors, which were once locked tight, slowly slid open.
Amos showed a faint smirk as he stepped forward with his arms crossed.
His path was unobstructed. Not a single soldier was seen around him either.
It was as if the base was completely empty.
Then again, Amos knew there were at least a hundred firearms pointed at him at this very moment.
If he did something out of line...
He would be filled with holes the next second.

That said, Amos did not mind the danger at all. He slowly walked forward when he finally came to the edge of an artificial lake.
It was an extremely luxurious feature in the middle of a desert. However, to maintain the lake, which required copious amounts of water, a lot of resources and manpower were needed.
For that, the artificial lake made the entire place much more lively, calming people's minds.
Under a gazebo made out of pure ametrine, a woman in military uniform was playing chess alone.
She was not against anyone in her mind, but deciphering a way to break through a formation that was made ages ago.
It seemed as if nobody in the world was a worthy opponent to her.
She had to look for one who came from a long span of history.
Amos quietly looked at the woman while she was obsessing over cracking the formation.
She had a fierce aura with her uniform on...
But even so, her peerless appearance could still clearly be seen.
Her short hair, nonchalance, looks, and figure were all extraordinary, even for the country's upper social circle.
Her beauty alone would be able to put many to shame.
Someone like Amos had already experienced all sorts of beauties from many places, and yet his heart still fluttered at the sight of the woman before him.
The woman was naturally one of the four commanders of the Border Force and also a member of the oldest branch of the Jean family, Hannah Jean.
After seeing Hannah make her final move, Amos lightly clapped his hands.
