Chapter 318 The Great Sun Lama

“This is because the human body is the prime form of all creatures and is also the most ideal state of evolution,” Jonathan finally said.

Mabel was also a highly cultivated person, and she immediately understood what Jonathan meant specifically.

Olswick was also a tropical region located in Intundeos and was hundreds of miles away from Xendale.

The place was also closely related to Norham and contained plenty of tropical jungles.

It was ten o'clock at night and a bright full moon hung in the sky.

To the southeast of Olswick was an endless sea.

Intundeos was prone to tsunamis and storms, and the geographical environment was humid and hot, with many wild animals and venomous snakes lurking in the jungle.

To survive here, one needed strong survival skills.

At this moment, the private plane finally arrived at the beach in front of the tropical jungle in Olswick.

The plane was running out of fuel and had to land on the beach to refuel.

This particular beach was not a tourist attraction. Everything was primitive, and the beach was surrounded by a dense forest. There were also many marks and traces left behind by snakes and insects crawling on the sand.

The sea was calm, and the silvery moonlight spilled over the sand.

As the propellers of the private plane roared loudly, the plane finally landed steadily on the beach.

The sand and dust on the beach were swirling around after being blown by the propellers.

Jonathan, Mabel and the cacodemon then got off the plane.

The cacodemon's eyes were filled with reluctance as it held onto Jonathan in silence with tears welling up in its eyes.

Although Jonathan also felt reluctant, he knew that they would eventually have to part ways.

“Let's give the cacodemon a send-off,” Mabel suggested.

The cacodemon's eyes finally lit up with joy.

Jonathan nodded in agreement, and they led the cacodemon into the jungle, holding its hand.

The dense foliage of the jungle was home to many snakes and insects.

According to past experiences, Jonathan had expected them to be attacked by snakes and insects. However, the cacodemon's presence deterred the snakes and insects from approaching them. The other wild beasts that inhabited the jungle also felt the cacodemon's intimidating aura and did not dare to come near.

The jungle was damp and filled with dew, with the ground covered in wet soil.

Suddenly, the cacodemon raised its head and called out in confusion, “D-Daddy!”

Jonathan looked toward the cacodemon.

The cacodemon's intelligence had grown remarkably, and it could now accurately express its thoughts. It asked, “Daddy, why do I have to come here?”

Jonathan was stumped by its question.

That's a relevant question. Why did the cacodemon have to come here? What did it do wrong?

He couldn't find an answer to the cacodemon's question.

Mabel knelt down and stroked the cacodemon's face. The cacodemon gazed at her, filled with confusion. It couldn't understand the world it was living in.

Mabel spoke softly. “You're different from ordinary beings and you're very powerful. Some people are afraid of you and fear that you will harm them. They want to kill you before you can harm them. Your father is reluctant to let you go too, but he wants to protect you, so he brought you here.”

“Who are they?” the cacodemon asked immediately.

Mabel replied, “Masters from Thymion.”

The cacodemon was puzzled and asked, “What is Thymion? Who are those people? I don't know them, so why should I harm them?”

Jonathan and Mabel were both stunned by the cacodemon's heart-wrenching question.

From the perspective of the Thymionians, they did nothing wrong. However, from the cacodemon's point of view, it was innocent.

“Daddy, I don't understand,” the cacodemon said.

Jonathan lifted the cacodemon in his arms and said softly, “Cacodemon, you don't understand now, but you will in the future. Many things in the world don't make sense, but we can only strive to have a clear conscience. Do you understand?”

The cacodemon did not seem to understand everything thoroughly, but it still nodded.

“Cacodemon, can you promise me one thing?” Jonathan asked again.

The cacodemon nodded and replied, “Daddy, I'll promise you anything.”

Jonathan said, “People say that you're a bad monster who will harm the world in the future. But I don't believe that. I think you're kind, and I'll always think of you as my good boy. So, in the future, you must never harm others and only do good. Let's use our actions to prove to those people that they're wrong. Can you do that?”

The cacodemon nodded vigorously and said, “Yes, Daddy. I can.”

“Good boy,” said Jonathan, tearing up as he placed the cacodemon down. “You stay here and behave yourself. I promise I'll come and see you whenever I have time, okay?”

The cacodemon immediately realized that Jonathan was leaving and became teary-eyed. “Daddy, please don't go. Stay here with me,” it pleaded.

Jonathan replied, “Even if I stay with you for one day, I can't stay with you forever. Sooner or later, you'll have to learn to be on your own.”

The cacodemon asked, “Can I go back with you then? I promise I'll be good. Even if someone hits me or scolds me, I won't fight back.”

At that moment, Jonathan wanted to take the cacodemon back with him. He really wanted to love it and care for it as if it were his own child.

But he knew he couldn't take the cacodemon with him.

He wouldn't be able to protect it from harm.

If the cacodemon were to lose control, the damage it could cause would be too much for a city to handle.

Besides, the people from Thymion wouldn't let it live.

Jeff wouldn't allow it either.

There were too many realistic factors that prevented Jonathan from taking the cacodemon with him. He had no choice but to leave it behind.

“We can't stay here for too long. If we do, Jeff and his team will track us down. Things won't look good for the cacodemon if that happens!” Mabel said.

Jonathan nodded. He looked at the cacodemon and asked, “Do you trust me?”

The cacodemon replied immediately, “I trust you.”

Jonathan said, “Remember, everything I'm doing today is for your own good. One day, we will be able to appear in public together without fear. Right now, this is just a small hardship that life has given you. If you can overcome it, everything will be fine in the end.”

The cacodemon still seemed puzzled, but it replied, “Okay, Daddy.”

Jonathan stood up and said, “I have to go now. You'll be fine here, right?”

The cacodemon nodded tearfully, saying, “I will.”

Jonathan's heart ached as he turned around and walked away in big strides.

Tears finally streamed down his face at that very moment. He wasn't an emotional person, but he couldn't help it at that moment.

Mabel felt sad too as she trailed behind Jonathan.

The cacodemon stayed behind without saying a word.

When Jonathan and Mabel were far away, it finally cried out in extreme anguish.

For the cacodemon, who was only two days old, there was still much it didn't understand.

Despite its lack of understanding of the ways of the world, the cacodemon had already experienced three partings.

The first time was when Jonathan released it into the jungle of Pinelake Mountain Forest.

The second time was when it had to part with Zoe.

This was the third time.

Jonathan was filled with sadness and anger.

If only I were stronger, I would've kept the cacodemon with me, and no one would dare to harm it. I also wouldn't have to worry about the cacodemon causing trouble because I would be able to control it. But unfortunately, I'm not strong enough! I must become stronger!
