STOP ME LAURA

I jumped up as the door to Jess's room swung open, slamming against the wall. My heart shot into my throat as Josh stepped inside, water still glistening on his skin, a towel slung dangerously low on his hips. "Josh!" I squeaked, heat rushing to my face.

"What the hell are you doing in here?" I screeched, my voice breaking slightly.

Josh didn't flinch. He didn't even blink. He just stood there, water dripping from his damp hair, his hands planted firmly on his hips.

"What are you doing in my room?" he countered, his voice calm but edged with something I couldn't quite place.

My stomach flipped as my eyes flicked downward despite myself. The towel clung to him, outlining everything, including the evidence of whatever he'd been doing in the shower. Heat crept up my neck, my cheeks burning as I forced myself to look away. "What-what are you talking about?" I stammered, backing up a step.

Josh's eyes narrowed slightly, his smirk growing. "What did you see, Laura?" he asked, his voice low and smooth, each word deliberate.

"Nothing!" I blurted out, the lie tumbling out of my mouth before I could think. "I promise I didn't see anything!"

Josh took a step closer, his smirk deepening. "I think you're lying, Laura." His tone was almost playful, but there was something dangerous about it too. "You're a very bad liar."

My back hit the dresser, and I realized too late that I had nowhere else to go. Josh was in front of me now, his body towering over mine, his proximity making it impossible to think straight.

"I-I'm not lying!" I protested weakly, my voice barely a whisper.

Josh leaned down, his face inches from mine. "Did you like what you saw?" he asked, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down my spine.
