The moment Zephyr entered, he saw Rowan leaving. He froze.

Zephyr had always mocked the old geezer and thought him to be annoying, but now that he saw his dejected expression and reddened eyes, he could not even force a smile… he felt like he was suddenly fed a pill—his throat felt dry and bitter.

“You’re here…” Rowan’s voice was hoarse.

That was all Rowan said. He gave Zephyr another glance and went off with a stagger.

Zephyr walked in and saw Cordelia on the couch in a trance. It was like life had been sucked out of her, and she was in a bad mood too.
