“Some people, though, don’t know their place when they’re already leeching off someone else and have been doing nothing but despicable deeds. People like this who are vipers in the family should be caught instead!”

Cordelia snickered. “Ana, am I right?”

Ava did not manage to get any advantage out of the situation and turned to flee.

“Close the door,” Cordelia told the butlers. “Chase her away if you hear the dog barking again next time. Why did you wait for me to come and fight?”

The butlers looked at each other and tried to hold back their laughs. Their madam was really interesting—she did not even break out into curses to scold someone.
