Joy nodded. "Yeah, I'm afraid so."

"I can't go on anymore. Just find a nice spot and bury me," Selena said, her spirit completely crushed.

Seeing her like this, Joy tried to lift her spirits. "Hey, at least it was Callum who found you. He's not the type to spread gossip. Your secret's safe with him, no worries. You can still salvage your reputation." Selena forced herself to shake off the gloom and got up to get ready for the day.

Joy had work, so Selena didn't ask for a ride. Instead, she called a cab to take her back to Moon Bay.

During the ride, she kept glancing at her phone, torn about whether to reach out to Callum. The embarrassment was too overwhelming, and she couldn't face him.

Oh well, she thought, one step at a time.

When she got back to the villa, she stumbled in, her head throbbing from the hangover and lack of sleep. She just wanted to crash and catch up on some rest.
