CHAPTER 45: SUNDAY DINNER – Pt. 1

I stayed the night at Jace’s last night. He was so insistent on making sure that I was going to be okay after I went into subspace, so I agreed to sleep at his house. My dad wasn’t too happy about it, but mom said that she would handle him for me, and I can only imagine what she had in mind. She had also told me that the earliest flight that she could get me on Monday was an early afternoon flight. When I informed Jace of me leaving, he refused to leave my side, and I’m not talking as in Dom mode. No, he was in full-blown loving boyfriend mode. There were no stern looks or deep voices; no “watch your tone, Ella” or “Good girl”. It was kind of weird actually, but I don’t know if it was a good weird or a bad weird.

Waking up in his arms is one of my favorite things that I’ve come to love, because he holds me as though I’m his most precious treasure. I remember when he used to carry around his teddy bear when we were younger, and when he would hug it tight as he slept with it. That’s what I feel like when I wake up in Jace Palmer’s arms.
