After everything that happened at the wedding, I understood Hendrix even better now.

Women, power, and his business didn't matter to him anymore. The most important thing in his mind now was taking care of me and our children.

He was so spontaneous that he had secretly planned a wedding and even did the house chores. No one knew what ideas he might come up with at any time, and it was always a pleasant surprise for us. Hendrix looked into the mirror and smiled, "Was I smiling?"

"Look at yourself in the mirror!" I pointed at his lips and said, "You can't even hide your smile right now! Come on, tell me, what are you hiding from me?"

Hendrix laughed and spread out his hands, looking helpless. "I'm not."

He then paused, put the hairdryer aside and tidied up my hair with his hands. "I didn't even realize that I was smiling. I was just looking at you and felt happy. Maybe it's because we're living such a peaceful life now, without having to face any unwanted drama. I don't even have to hide my feelings anymore." "Really?" I raised one of my eyebrows and deliberately made things difficult for him. "Are you just trying to comfort me? People say that most marriages get boring after the first seven years and those couples end up hating each other. Look at us, we've been together for so many years now. Are you sure you don't hate me?"

Hendrix didn't respond. He simply turned the hairdryer on again. This time, the temperature was much cooler. The cold air made me shiver as it blew through my shirt. I turned to glare at him and asked, "Are you doing that to take revenge on me?"

Hendrix's movements paused as he frowned helplessly. "Mrs. Roberts, I'm just helping you dry your hair as we talk. How is that taking revenge on you?"

He seemed to make sense.

Wait a minute, who cares if it made sense?!
