Madelyn updated Chester about the outcome via text and waited for his reply.
After a while, he replied.
“Don’t think too much, Maddie. Anyway, you’ve already said your piece. This way, no matter what happens next, it won’t have anything to do with you.”
“Chester… My heart aches…”
Madelyn was just about to send that message and confide in the person she loved.
Suddenly, her fingertips trembled.
She ended up deleting the message.
She could not let Chester know that her position in the Fowler family was in danger. She could not compare to Jane at all!
If Chester found out about it, their relationship would be severely affected.

The Fowler family had plans to go to Cloudnine Restaurant for dinner.

The company was in good hands under Peter’s management for now. They sent Peter a message, informing him that they would gather at Cloudnine Restaurant tonight.
Johan went to the balcony and lit a cigarette. After taking a deep puff, he rubbed his swollen temples.
“Smoking is bad for your health, Johan.”
Aaron walked up to Johan.
“I know, but this is the only thing that can make me feel better now.”
Johan smiled bitterly, took another deep breath, and stubbed out the cigarette.
Suddenly, he frowned and held his head with a painful expression.
*Johan, are you alright? Do you have a headache? Did you not sleep well last night?”
“It’s nothing.”

Johan shook his head.
Last night, Johan had started dreaming again.
It was not like when he had first obtained Signy’s amulet and slept through the night peacefully, without any dreams.

Johan messaged asked Signy to ask if there was any way to stop himself from having such dreams.
Signy replied saying that she could not do anything for him right now. She had to return to the national library in Yalondy to check if there was any way to help Johan with his nightmares.
Johan told Signy to do her best.
So many things had happened.
Johan’s atheism had begun to crumble.
