Chapter 154
Serenity had gotten used to rude people like this. Many people looked down on sanitation workers. Sometimes, people would accidentally bump into the sanitation workers and push the blame on them anyway even if it was obviously not the sanitation worker’s fault.
“Okay, Xyla. It’s just a small matter,” Serenity said. Xyla and Serenity continued working and swept the floor. When Serenity changed out of her uniform, she suddenly found a small silver bracelet in the pocket of her uniform.
Serenity wondered when this bracelet had fallen into her pocket. It was a night shift, and no one was in the Sanitation Office. So, she put the bracelet away and planned to register the bracelet as lost and found the next day.
When Serenity got back home, it was dark and silent.
The room was usually bright whenever she came back from her night shift as Jack would wait for her at home. However, after that incident… Serenity turned on the light and smiled bitterly at the coldness of the

room
That night. Serenity lay in bed and took out the bracelet she had discovered earlier. It was a seemingly ordinary silver bracelet worn by a child. Serenity remembered having a similar bracelet as a child.
How had this bracelet ended up in the pocket of her work uniform? The memory of the man who had bumped into her earlier flashed in her mind. Had he accidentally dropped it?
This brace et did not seem valuable. Serenity wondered if the owner would come back and look for it.
Serenity exhaled at the thought. Why was she thinking so much? She decided to take the bracelet to the lost and found at the Sanitation Office the next day.
Little did Serenity know, the man who had bumped into her earlier that day was currently being held in a hotel room, interrogated by a group of people, and he was full of injuries.
The man deeply regretted his actions earlier. If he had known, he would not have stolen from Lucas. He saw how Lucas had been dressed like a rich man and thought he had been lucky to catch a big fish. Instead, he had gotten himself into big trouble
“Sir! I really don’t know anything about the bracelet you’re talking about! I did see the bracelet, but I simply stuffed it into my pocket. I swear! I don’t know why you can’t find it in my pockets. The man knelt in front of Lucas with blood all over his face as he shouted and pleaded.
Lucas sat gracefully on the couch with an icy-cold look on his handsome face. “Where is the bracelet? I don’t care what you want, but I must retrieve the bracelet. If the bracelet is gone, there’s no need to keep your hands.”
The man trembled in fear. That bracelet… He did not know the importance of that bracelet. If only he had known. Otherwise, he would not have casually stuffed it in his pocket. Besides, he had been busy making his getaway and accidentally bumped into someone…
Suddenly, the man remembered something and hurriedly said, “I remember now. Someone else might have picked up the bracelet! – bumped into a sanitation worker sweeping the road earlier. The bracelet might have fallen out of my pocket. The sanitation worker might have picked it up!”
