Chapter 161
This time, however, their positions were reversed, and it was Serenity who did the slapping.
Lyra held her cheek in disbelief as she asked, “How… How dare you slap me?!”
“If you could slap me,” Serenity countered, “then why the hell can’t I slap you back?”
If she had to bear the responsibility, it stood to reason that Lyra had to bear some too
“Who do you think you are? Lyra spat, mad with anger. “You’re nothing but a third-rate minor celebrity! How dare you slap me?!
Serenity was not at all offended being called the “minor celebrity” as Lyra put it, but still..

“Then what right did you have to slap me? You’re a minor celebrity yourself! If it hadn’t been for Lucas Gomez, do you really think that you’d be where you are today? You’re well aware of why you came here to throw a fit like a madwoman! It’s all because you broke up with Lucas, and you’re afraid that you will lose everything, right? Because everything you have was all given to you by that man! And you actually think that you’re above me?”
Serenity’s barrage of words made Lyra turn bect red, especially when she noticed all the eyes that were staring at her. This only made Lyra feel more and more humiliated, which in turn made her hate Serenity even more now. She raised her hand and prepared to charge at Serenity once more.
But this time, someone came up behind Lyra and held her hand before it landed on Serenity’s face.
This startled Lyra, and just moments later, she heard a voice behind her ask, “What do you think you’re doing, Lyra?”
Her body froze in an instant, and she turned around slowly. What caught her eyes was a handsome but nonchalant face with piercing narrow eyes that were now filled with impatience. Lyra trembled as a chill ran down her spine. She knew, of course, that whenever there were signs of impatience in his eyes, it meant that he was extremely displeased.
“Lucas…” said Lyra in a quivering voice. “I heard that you were here, so I… I wanted to see you…
“See me?” Lucas glanced at Serenity’s red cheek and asked her, “Did she hit you?”
He asked Serenity that question while completely ignoring the fact that Lyra’s cheek was just as red as Serenity’s.
“I’ve already hit her back,” Serenity told him.
“Is hitting her back once enough? Lucas asked, his voice calm and breezy, almost as if he was merely talking about something mundane.
Serenity and Lyra both froze in shock. Serenity looked a little confused, but Lyra seemed like she was hit by a sudden realization, and her face turned pale as her whole body trembled.
“Why don’t you hit her a few more times?” Lucas suggested, though no one could guess what he was feeling from his cold and indifferent expression. “It might help you vent your anger since she was the one who caused you trouble. Don’t you think she should pay for what she did?”
