Chapter 1795: Take down the third one

BANG!

The man froze at the sound of gunfire from behind him. He looked back, his eyes landing on another man who stood a few paces away from the first. This second man stopped the first one from shooting Mint in the head. His gun was raised, smoke rising from the muzzle of his rifle as he had fired into the sky.

The second guy huffed and lowered his gun, marching toward Mint and his "comrade."

"What are you doing?" the second guy asked, his eyes lowering to Mint. "We do not kill in this land."

The first person looked at the man flatly, emotionlessly. "She killed our men."

"Your men, not mine," the other guy responded, pushing him by the chest before bending down to pick up Mint. "I’m taking her back to the mansion."

With that, he tossed Mint over his broad shoulder like a sack, then faced the first guy.

"Tell your people we already got her," he said before walking away down the empty road, waiting on the side until he caught a vehicle’s lights approaching.

The first guy clicked his tongue and just watched the man go before he huffed and reached for his pocket. Once he took out a small device, he spoke into it.

"Go back. We found her."

Three trucks came to pick up where Mint was tranquilized, gathering everyone who had been searching the field for her. The situation wouldn’t normally bring a happy atmosphere, considering the state of the very island they were standing on.

However, even when they regrouped, the air in the group of men was tense. It wasn’t the type of tension one would have from having a casualty. More like a tension between two different groups thrown into one, now forced to work together.
