Chapter 88
Emma swore she never thought he was an embarrassment. She had no idca why he thought so. Hey, I think you think I‘m an embarrassment.
Her silence only made him angrier, and he ordered, “Tell everyone I‘m your ex! I don‘t want them calling me a dirty old git!
That was a tall order for Emma. He was not an embarrassment, but she did not want to tell everyone he was her ex–husband either. She was in a storm of trouble right now. If she told everyone she was married to Trevor at one point, all the Jonestown women who had a crush on him would kill her. Crystal‘s fans would probably call her out too. “Trevor…” This was the first time she called his name in a while. “You‘re not an embarrassment, but,”
Trevor was infuriated when he heard the word ‘but‘, so he cut her off before she could finish. “I don‘t want to hear the rest of it!”
He hung up right away, and she was in a dilemma. She wanted to tell him about her situation so he could understand why she could not do it, but he stonewalled her. I don‘t get it. The comments are harsh, but it has nothing to do with him. He‘s not old or ugly. He has a sery body, and um… he‘s not impotent. He doesn‘t have to get mad, and nobody knows it‘s him.
She looked at the comments again, but she had no idea how to deal with it. How am I supposed to tell everyone he‘s my ex? They‘ll kill me!
Just when she was wondering what to do, someone said something contrary to the mainstream comments. They defended her and proved that her ex–husband was a young, successful man. Emma felt like dying when she saw the post. The commenter was probably a longtime fan of hers, since his pictures were really old tweets of hers.
‘I‘m just a regular Twitter user, but I‘ve been following this sweet lady for a while now. Honestly, her ex is not a dirty old fart, nor is he fai. She posted a photo of him before, though it‘s only his back. His shoulders are really broad, and he‘s lean, like a model:
The netizen attached a photo Emma used to post on her wall. It was the back photo of a man. He was wearing a fitting white shirt, and he was talking on the phone beside the window, one hand in his pocket. They could not see his face, but it was obvious that he was sexy and regal.
Emma had taken that photo in secret. All she could think of back then was Trevor. They just had passionate sex that night, and he was everything to her. She took a photo in secret, and when she posted it, she captioned it with, ‘I really, really love this guy
Emma saw the caption, and she felt goosebumps all over her. More importantly, Trevor would see these comments as well. Of course she wanted to die.
A lot of netizens commented under that status,
I‘m her fan too. Her ex is super tall. There was one tweet that went, “It‘s really hard to kiss this guy while standing. My neck feels like it‘s gonna break.” Judging from her photo, she‘s probably five feet five, so her ex must be at least five feet eleven!
The commenter posted another photo of that exact tweet, and Emma felt like banging her head against the wall. Why the heck did they svreeshot my tweets? And I thought nobody‘s gonna know once I delete this stuff. Goddammit. Now everyone knows my stupid past and that stupid username. Trevor‘s probably gonna feel really disgusted.
Another commenter said, ‘She posted a pic of her ex‘s hand before. It‘s *chef‘s kiss*. There‘s no way a dirty old pig can have that kind of hand!
They posted the picture of Trevor‘s hand, but Emma was not surprised anymore. Fortunately, those were the only photos she took. Everything else was just pictures of her tweets.
‘You know what love feels like? Everything turns into bubbles the moment you see your love
‘First day of his absence. I miss him.
‘Second day of his absence. I still miss him!
“Third day. Can anyone tell me how to stop missing someone?”
‘Fourth day. He appears from the veils of the night. Oh, be still, my heart.
Emma had no idea that there were so many followers who screenshotted her tweets. It was just a personal account, and she did not have that many fans. She could see that they really liked her writing. That was why they were defending her. They seldom commented on her tweets, and she never replied, but their comments did it help with her reputation. Beauty captures the soul of humanity, I think
Emma was touched. After these comments got on trending and went viral, Trevor sent her a few screenshots of the comments.
Emma wanted to play dumb, but she apologized right away in the end. I‘m sorry, Mr. Bateson. I was young, dumb, and stupid. That was just the stupid me posting cringe. I‘m sorry if it annoyed you!
Emma thought Trevor hated her. He could kill her if he saw these tweets, so she apologized first. Gotta save myself. Trevor then called her, and she picked it up nervously.
Trevor hissed, “You were young, dumb, and stupid? That was cringe?”
Emma nodded seriously. “Yes. It‘s all my fault.”
Trevor said coldly, “Is that what you think of the marriage?”
Emma was confused. She thought he was being a bit weird. Hey, why did he get madder? I already said I‘m sorry.
She kept quiet for a while, and Trevor said coolly, “I had no idea it was so tiring to kiss me while standing up.”
Emma turned as red as an apple. Please don‘l bring that up. We‘re divorced. We really don‘t have to talk about the kiss.
She was at a loss for words, and Trevor sneered. “Not my fault you‘re short.”
Emma felt like screaming. What? The f*ck did he say? Darn. How did I even get through three years of marriage with him without dying?
