Chapter 180

Since Trevor's hand was injured, Emma drove Trevor's car to the hospital.

She drove speedily since she was in a hurry, which was completely different from how she usually drove calmly. It was quite late at night, and there were no cars on the road, so there was no obstruction along the way.

Contrary to Emma's nervousness, Trevor sat leisurely in the co-pilot seat, taking advantage of the brief time waiting for the red light to ask Emma, "Are you that worried about me?"

Emma felt that he was simply insane. It was a matter of human life, so how could she not be worried?

"Don't be blinded by infatuation now; your life is at stake. Even if Minnie scratched someone else, I would rush them to the hospital too," Emma answered in frustration, stepping on the accelerator as she continued rushing toward the hospital.

Trevor was speechless at her words. How did she think of using those words on him? How was he blinded by infatuation?

After being annoyed for a moment, Trevor calmed down again. He did seem to be blinded by infatuation whenever he was with Emma, after all.

Whatever she did, he felt happy. He would agree to whatever she asked of him, but it was a pity she didn't ask for anything.

After arriving at the hospital, they went to the emergency room. The doctor said that Trevor needed a rabies shot and an immunoglobulin shot.

Emma hurriedly went to pay the bill while holding the doctor's prescription, but Trevor stopped her. "I'll pay it by myself."

Emma disagreed while saying, "The cat is mine, and I have to be responsible for you."

When Trevor heard her say that she was responsible for him, he immediately laughed. "Emma, if you want to be responsible for me, you should be responsible to me for what happened in the hotel that morning."

Emma didn't realize what he meant at first. Trevor gritted his teeth and whispered, "You just left me like that. If I can't function in the future, you'll have to be responsible for the rest of my life."

Emma's face flushed red. Originally, she had been trying to forget what happened that morning. After he found her at night and said he wanted to see the cat, she kept avoiding the incident too. However, he took this opportunity to mention it.

Is he even aware of his current situation? How can he still be in the mood to speak like that?!

Embarrassed and annoyed, Emma took the form and turned around to pay, not wanting to say a word more to Trevor.

Meanwhile, the man didn't argue with her anymore about paying the money himself, and after Emma paid the money, he went for the injections.

Trevor thought it was just a normal injection at first, but after the so-called immunoglobulin shot, he felt terrible.

It's so f*cking painful.

Despite being a grown man, he was almost reduced to tears. He gritted his teeth and endured the pain. He tried his best to look calm, but he was irritated in his heart.

It's all my fault! I shouldn't have bought that cat!

Others buy a cat to be happy, but the cat I bought is after my life.

Sure enough, the cat is like its owner. Both of them want me dead.

Emma looked at the back of his red and swollen hand and felt extremely guilty for a while. "Does it hurt?"

She never had this kind of injection before, so she didn't know it was painful and would swell like this.

Trevor scoffed and said, "It doesn't hurt, but I'm almost dying."

Emma was speechless.

Why can't he just say that it hurts?

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect Minnie to act like this."

Trevor couldn't bear to see her guilty look. He pursed his lips and said, "I bought the cat, and I touched it myself. You don't need to apologize to me."

In the past, Trevor always spoke coldly and indifferently to her before. But now, Trevor was really gentle and even comforted her so that she wouldn't feel guilty.

Emma couldn't help but look up at the man in front of her, and Trevor looked at her too.

After their eyes met, Emma instantly thought of that evocative morning, and her expression suddenly became embarrassed.

Those pictures lingered in her mind, and Emma knew that she shouldn't have met him.

Didn't Susanna say that Trevor would not see her for a long time? Why did he come to her house as soon as she returned to Jonestown and said he wanted to see her cat?

Embarrassed, she got up quickly and said, "Can you walk? I'll take you home."

Trevor glanced at her, then got up and walked away.

He was really annoyed and awkward when she ran away that morning, or he wouldn't have returned to Jonestown in a hurry.

However, as he continued to be separated from her, he felt really uncomfortable.

As he thought about her, he had no time to remember the annoyance and awkwardness from before.

He even proposed to hold that meeting just to get her back from Kingsford.

After Emma sent Trevor home, she stood at the door and said, "If you're fine now, I will go back first."

This was her second time going to the place where she and Trevor once lived after their divorce, and she didn't want to step into it.

Trevor saw through her mind at a glance. He showed her his red and swollen right hand, asking, "Do I look like I'm fine?"
