Chapter 90
Chapter 90.
Nelly’s POV.
The morning sun streamed through the window, directly into my eyes. I groaned and turned my head, trying to escape the brightness. As I tried to sit up, I felt a hand on my shoulder, pulling me back down.
“Good morning,” a deep voice said, and I opened my eyes to see Kex’s smiling face above me.
“Good morning, Mr. Lover-Lover,” I teased, and he chuckled.
“When did you come up with that name?” he asked, and I just smiled, my cheeks flushing.
He leaned down and kissed me softly, and I melted into his embrace. But I pulled away, feeling a bit dizzy from the intensity of the kiss. He looked at me, his expression serious.
“Are you okay?” he asked. I nodded, trying to regain my composure.
“Just a little overwhelmed,” I admitted. He smiled and brushed a strand of hair away from my face.
“I can be overwhelming,” he said, his tone teasing.
I laughed, feeling my heart swell with love for this man. I reached up and cupped his cheek, drawing him close for another kiss.
The kiss was brief, and I started to pull away, but Kex’s hand on my shoulder kept me close.
“We can’t stay in this room forever,” I said, half-joking.
“But we can stay together for a little while longer,” he replied, his voice low and soft.
I rested my head on his chest, my fingers drawing slow circles on his back. He brushed his fingers. through my hair, his touch light and soothing.
Just as I was starting to feel relaxed, there was a knock at the door. Kex let out a frustrated groan, and I couldn’t help but laugh.
He scrambled off the bed, while I smooth my hair and clothes as Kex threw on a shirt.
“Come in,” he called out, and the door opened. One of Kex’s warriors stood in the doorway, his expression serious.
“Alpha, your presence is needed,” he said, his voice low and urgent.
Kex glanced at me, “Duty calls,” he groaned. I nodded, urging him to go.

He brushed his fingers over my cheek, and then strode from the room. I sank back onto the bed,

feeling the loss of his warmth.
Just as I was settling into a comfortable position on the bed, there was a sudden crash as the door was flung open. I looked up to see Aisha, standing in the doorway.
“Good morning, my Luna!” she said, grinning from ear to ear. She bowed slightly, her dark hair falling over her shoulder. I threw a pillow at her, annoyed by the fact she addressed me as her Luna. She just laughed and caught the pillow, throwing it back at me. I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t help but smile.
“Oh, come on, don’t be grumpy,” she said, still grinning. “It’s a beautiful day!”
I got up and stretched my arms above my head, arching my back. Aisha watched me with
amusement.
“That was quite the show,” she said, winking at me. I gave her a mock scowl, and she laughed.
“So, what’s on the agenda for today?” she asked, flopping down on the bed next to me. I looked at her, unsure how to answer. There was a lot on my mind, but I didn’t know where to start.
“Don’t we need to start packing?” I asked, feeling a little overwhelmed by the thought of all the things that needed to be done.
“Relax,” Aisha said with a laugh. “The maids will take care of all that. Besides, we have plenty of time.” I sighed, knowing she was right.
“Okay, fine,” I said, trying to push away my anxiety. “So, what should we do now?”
“Let’s
go
check on Emily, Shantel, and Carl,” she suggested, a mischievous smile on her face.
“Oh boy,” I groaned, knowing that I needed to look smart. “Fine, let me wash my face.” I said, smiling. She gave me a curt nod.
I dragged myself out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. I splashed some water on my face, hoping it would help wake me up. As I looked into the mirror, my eyes fell on the love bite Kex had left on my neck the night before. I couldn’t help but blush, remembering the sex we had shared. I shook my head, trying to clear the thoughts from my mind. I washed my face and stepped out of the bathroom. Aisha was waiting for me, and she took my hand in hers.
“Ready?” she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. I gave her a nod.
We reached the cave, and the pungent smell hit us before we even set foot inside. The guard at the door bowed as we passed, and I gave him a curt nod in return. I steeled myself and stepped into the cave, bracing myself for what I might find.
There was Emily, her skin a sickly shade of green, her eyes wide and wild. Tears streamed down her face, and she was trembling uncontrollably.
“Kill me,” she whispered, her voice quivering.
