“You’re sure you can’t change into your wolf?” she asked, her voice shaking.

“I’ve tried, but I can’t,” I said, my own voice quivering.

“This is trouble,” she mumbled, her gaze darting around the room as if searching for an escape.

Aisha’s back hit the wall as she took a step away from me, her hands shaking as she fumbled to regain her

composure.

“Listen to me, Nelly,” she said, her voice tight with worry. “You need to calm down and try to connect with her by any means you can. You can do it.”

I was beginning to feel helpless. It felt like no matter what I did, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t reach Aria.

“Please, let me try again,” I pleaded, tears forming in my eyes. Alsha reached out and put a hand on my shoulder.

“It’s okay, Nelly,” she said softly. “Take a moment to breathe and gather your thoughts. Maybe if you just focus on her, you can get through.”
